Why Hybrid

Why We Chose Hybrid

LETHEX is hybrid by principle.

Custody is a decision that belongs to the holder of an asset, taken asset by asset.

A centralized exchange gives a user fast execution, one price per market and a familiar order ticket.

It takes control of the asset in return, and gives back a record of what the user is owed.

A self-custody wallet reverses that: the keys stay with the user, and only the user can move the balance.

It gives the user full command of their own keys.

Together, the two models are complete.

LETHEX runs both, in one application, under one login.

Custody Is Decided Per Asset

Assets in the wallet are controlled by the user's keys, and by those keys alone.

Assets in the exchange account are held by LETHEX under the controls published here, and are recorded as an obligation of the platform to that user.

Moving value between the two is always the user's deliberate action.

The strongest custody model holds exactly what an exchange must hold.

The exchange holds what an exchange must hold, and the wallet holds the rest.

Your Assets Belong to You

A blockchain wallet is direct ownership, secured by a key.

Ownership is control of a key, and that control belongs to the user.

LETHEX builds the wallet around that fact.

The recovery phrase is the wallet: whoever holds it holds the assets.

Wallet balances and account balances are shown as separate figures, because they are separate things.

An account tells a user what they are owed. A wallet tells a user what they hold.

What Hybrid Delivers

A wallet and an exchange built as one platform, each labelled for what it is.

Assets move between custody models only when the user moves them.

Every custodial balance carries the full controls a custodial venue owes its users.

Every balance is shown as the asset it is, in the place it is held.

Wherever LETHEX holds an asset, it holds it under the rules in the Security and Governance chapters, every time.
